To the people of Saffron Walden Shire ward,

As the very proud son of the now longest serving town councillor I would like to say thank you to the voters of Shire Ward. Jim Ketteridge is a Conservative, but he is first and foremost a Saffron Walden man, born and bred. He loves Saffron Walden.

Jim is also about to become (I think) leader of Uttlesford District Council. To my mind there can be no better recompense to a political career (local politics) that has spanned more than 30 years. I'm sure he will do his utmost to make sure that the newly elected Conservative majority on the district council does a good and honest job for the next four years.

I had the privilege of working the last three days of the campaign with the Conservative candidates in Shire ward, Howard Rolfe, Raza Anjum, Keith Eden, Sandra Eden and Jim Ketteridge and I must say that I have never met such a professional group more dedicated to the task. What's more, they are all extremely nice people.

Well done to the voters, well done to the all the elected candidates, especially Alistair Walters, and well done dad!

Thank you.

Andrew Ketteridge

P.S. The LibDems said four years ago that they were off to run the district. Where have they Wheely Bin? (Couldn't resist it!)
